The world is on the brink of a new, all-encompassing revolution moving at exponential speed. We are witnessing the emergence of innovative technological trends, Industry 4.0, such as artificial intelligence, the internet of things, robotics, 3D printing, nanotechnology, and others with applications as diverse as the technologies themselves
One of the contentious points of discussion regarding Industry 4.0 is its expected effect on employment. The adoption of Industry 4.0 by Indian industries will result in increased use of automation and robots on the shop floor. There is no doubt that certain low-skilled jobs will be eliminated. However, it is expected that the adoption of industry 4.0 by companies in India will have a positive effect on the creation of jobs, requiring higher levels of skills.
With much more developments in place for emerging technologies both in government and corporate sectors across industries, there will be a huge demand for skilled manpower in these technologies. In the upcoming workforce, getting skilled in these technologies is a great challenge because of affordability.
To enhance the tech skills of the students and make them industry-ready, ICT Academy, as a part of PayPal CSR initiative, launches Student Enablement Program to train students of higher education on advanced technologies by establishing the Centre for Women Empowerment (CWE) and Centre for Youth Empowerment (CYE).
