The Social Welfare and Nutritious Meal Programme Department has introduced various schemes to educate and uplift the beneficiaries under this scheme, but the major drawback is to give the participants proper training on areas that can easily fetch them job opportunities. The demands from the service sector and the organized sector are not tapped. In the current scenario the demands from the service and the organized sector has increased in multi fold. Thus Social welfare department and ICT Academy has conducted an exclusive training course that is in trend with the industry demands and will concentrate on organized, unorganized and service sector.
ICT Academy has successfully trained 100 beneficiaries under this scheme in a span of 2 months. These beneficiaries were in three major areas such as IT skills,English language and office management. The 100 beneficiaries were majorly girls in social welfare department located across five regions (Chennai, cuddalore , Salem, sivagangai, Thirunelveli). The educational backgrounds of the target group are 11th Std and 12th Std students. Their age group lies between 14-22 years.
After successful completion of the training, study materials were offered to them and all the 100 beneficiaries were assessed and certified. Through this program ICT Academy was able to create employment opportunities for the participant and thus improve their lifestyle.
