UiPath Citizen Developer Skill-A-Thon 2022

About RPA

Robotic process automation (RPA) is a software technology that makes it easy to build, deploy, and manage software robots that emulate human actions interacting with digital systems and software. Like people, software robots can do things like understanding what’s on a screen, completing the right keystrokes, navigating systems, identifying, and extracting data, and performing a wide range of defined actions. But software robots can do it faster and more consistently than people, without the need to get up and stretch or take a coffee break!

UiPath Citizen Developer Skill-A-Thon 2022

What is a citizen developer?

A citizen developer is an employee who creates application capabilities for consumption by themselves or others, using tools that are not actively forbidden by IT or business units. A citizen developer is a persona, not a title or targeted role. They report to a business unit or function other than IT.

All citizen developers are business technologists. However, all business technologists are not necessarily citizen developers. There is no required designation of proficiency or time allocation for citizen developers, but they must be legal employees of an organisation.

An UiPath Citizen Developer is a non-technical employee who is eager to learn how to automate and wants to use their skills to create simple automation for themselves or their department, giving them more time for higher-value work

About SKILL–A–THON 2022

The market for RPA increases 38% annually and is estimated to become a venture of USD 31 billion by 2030. RPA skills are growing in demand as more and more organisations look at providing a robot for every employee. With low-code/no-code gaining traction, UiPath Citizen Developers will undoubtedly become a default skill looked for in every professional.
The Skill-A-Thon 2022 will offer more profound insight into various career opportunities in RPA and how UiPath is shaping the future of work. It will also share insight into how organisations adopt RPA and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies such as machine learning, virtual agents, natural language processing, and computer vision. Skill-A-Thon 2022 is an effort to help educators and students build Citizen developers and deploy basic robots to see the power of a digital assistant.
ICT Academy hosts this event in Association with UiPath Academic Alliance.
