About

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) leads the "Electronics & ICT Academy Scheme - Phase 2," a program designed to train 1,35,000 faculty members from higher education institutions across India in emerging technologies. Through faculty and student training programs, this initiative focuses on upskilling educators. ICT Academy is proud to partner with MeitY in this effort, to train 11,800 faculty members in ESDM and emerging technologies essential to today’s job market. By enhancing faculty expertise, the program ensures educators can better prepare students for the evolving demands of the tech industry, fostering a future-ready workforce.

Objectives

To conduct specialised FDPs for faculty/mentor training, in line with the vision of MeitY by promoting emerging technologies that strengthen the pillars of "Make in India" and "Digital India".

To promote synergy and collaboration among industry and academia, especially in emerging technology areas

Envisioning India as a global hub for the ESDM sector.

To standardize FDPs through Joint Faculty Development Programs

To support the Indian educators undergo at least 50 hours of professional development training every year.

To deliver specialized Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) on emerging technologies and specific research areas for higher education faculty. This includes multi-disciplinary FDPs related to ICT tools and technologies, covering both engineering and non-engineering colleges, polytechnics, ITIs, and PGT educators.
