ICT Academy is an initiative of the Government of India in collaboration with the state Governments and Industries. Atos Syntel Leaders Convergence will provide an opportunity for the Academic and Industry Leader to discuss and deliberate the challenges and opportunities for Industry 4.0. This Convergence will be a common platform to discuss the current issues and challenges faced by Higher Education in terms of core skill development, preparedness and job opportunities for students for the new industrial revolution. On this Occasion, Atos Syntel is inaugurating the first of its kind Global Development Center in Tirunelveli. This centre will be a hub for Human Resources from South Tamil Nadu which has some of the largest cities of Tamil Nadu, such as Madurai, Trichy and Tirunelveli and many higher education institutions. However, the majority of the Industrial Development happens in the northern part of Tamil Nadu, in and around the capital city Chennai and industrial city Coimbatore. The southern Tamil Nadu is known for the agriculture and traditional family-based businesses. Apparently, it is also the human resource hub of Tamil Nadu. With more than 60% of entire higher education institutions situated in southern parts of Tamil Nadu, the region produces more than 1 lakh engineering graduates every year. Most of these graduates migrate to metro cities such as Chennai and Bengaluru for training and employment. Also, the geographic structure made it challenging for the institutions to get connected with the corporate world for training and development of faculty and students since the majority of the Multinationals are located in metro cities. To address this, Tirunelveli will be a strategic center for an educational conference of this kind. Moreover, the Leaders Convergence provides an opportunity for the educational institutions in the region to interact and get connected with the leaders and experts of technology companies, which help them to augment their industry relevant education approach to make the students future-ready.
