MAKE-A-THON 2022

ABOUT

Tamil Nadu the hub of culture, arts and tradition has always been innovative in adapting to the changing eras. The state has evolved with time from innovation in arts to innovation in technology. With the aim to foster innovation midst the younger generation, ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu, an initiative of Government of Tamil Nadu and Industries, has come up with 'Make-a-thon 2022', for the students of higher education across the state.

Innovation no more happens on demand. Innovation has become an integral part of business, product, process, service and lifestyle. It is believed that innovation is the change that unlocks new value.

Innovation can only be nourished by creating environments for ideas to be developed. ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu, with this objective instituted the MAKE-A-THON, through which the Academy thrives to enhance student knowledge and benefit society through professional education integrated with Research, Creativity and Innovation.

Make-a-thon 2022 presents an opportunity for students to showcase their innovative projects state-wide and provides an environment to nurture their invention by discussing with the experts.

  • A college shall nominate maximum of three projects from the streams mentioned
  • Each team shall comprise a maximum of 5 members

    Event & Engagement Plan

  • A State Level Event conducted in 4 phases
  • In 6 Territories - Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, Trichy & Hosur
  • Phase 1 (Starts from the 20th December 2022 and Ends by 6th Jan 2023
    1. Register for the event in 1 category with an Ideation Note - Before 3rd Jan 2023
    2. Internal Review of the applications and shortlisting
  • Phase 2 (Starts from 18th Jan 2023 and ends by 11th Feb 2023)
    1. Top 6 ideas under each category from each Territory are selected
    2. The selected teams come to present their idea for further evaluation
  • Phase 3 (Starts from 20th Feb 2023 and ends by 28th Feb 2023)
    1. The selected teams present their business idea & Proto to the panel
    2. Top 2 ideas under each category from each Territory are selected
    3. The selected teams will undergo training to fine tune their business idea
  • Phase 4 (8th March 2023)
    1. Top 3 ideas under each theme for the overall state compete in the finals
    2. These 3 top teams compete in Finals and present a workable model or proto
    3. 1 winners from each category are chosen for the award
