Overview

This Course introduces the Programming Language – C# to the students by giving practical knowledge in C# programming, utilizing the services provided by .NET in an object-oriented perspective. This includes implementation of inheritance, interfaces, and generics, synchronous and asynchronous delegates.

This intensive course teaches the essential elements of ADO.NET such that at the end of the course the student is able to utilize its tremendous database manipulation powers to build effective database applications.

Pre-requisite Knowledge/Skills

  • Basic Programming knowledge and Logical skills and
  • Basic SQL knowledge.

Course Objective

Upon successful completion of the course, participants should be able to:

  • List the major elements of the .NET Frame work and explain how C# fits into the .NET platform.
  • Analyze the basic structure of a C# application and be able to debug, compile, and run a simple application.
  • Explain the basic concepts and terminology of object-oriented programming.
  • Create, initialize, and use arrays. Create, initialize, and destroy objects in a C# application.
  • Use delegates, and add event specifications.
  • Using Reflection to determine Types
  • Describe data-centric applications, ADO.NET architecture, and ADO.NET and XML.
  • Connect to SQL Server and other data sources.
  • Deploying Windows and ASP.NET web applications

  • Module 1: Introducing C#
  • Module 2: Windows Programming with Controls
  • Module 3: Advanced Windows Forms Features and Files Menus and Toolbars Tool strip Menu Item Status Strip and Tab Control
  • Module 4: Data Access Using ADO.NET
  • Module 5: Using XML in ADO.NET
  • Module 6: Crystal Reports Integration for Windows-Based Applications
  • Module 7: Debugging and Deploying your Applications
  • Module 8: Windows Presentation Foundation Overview

Project Work

Participants are required to undergo a Project Work as a part of the program. Project Work should be in accordance with the Project Specifications provided by ICT Academy in consultation with the industry. The Project work would be done in groups, with 4 or 5 participants in a group.
